Caregiver Emotions and feelings

"I feel so angry sometimes", How can I do all this on my own", "I feel so alone". These are all quotes from others who care for loved ones. First, I would like to say that these aer all normal thoughts and emotions. It's hard to imagine being angry with a loved one who is ill, but what we need to remember is the anger comes from a place of fear and often exhaustion. Work life balance. It is what we all strive for, but what happens when life becomes work? We have work and work and work. Caring for a loved one can be both fulfilling and exhausting. Most people who are caring for a loved one are either working full time from home or outside the home while caring full time for an ill loved one. Most of us have families and children we are also caring for, which leaves little time for self help and leads to feelings of anger and exhaustion. About 60% of those caring for a loved one are female. Women are natural caregivers and tend to put others before themselves, leaving little for themselves. "My aim is to help caregivers discover strategies to manage emotions and practice self-care."
